County Manager Announces 10 A.M. Start Time For Non-Essential County Government Facilities 

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Due to forecasted hazardous weather conditions Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered a delayed start for the morning of Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024. Non-essential County government administrative offices will open at 10 a.m. Some additional County services and facilities may also be affected: 

  • Atomic City Transit fixed route service will begin at approximately 7 a.m. Thursday morning. For specific route information, visit www.atomiccitytransit.com, or check the ACTracker
  • The Aquatic Center plans to open at 10 a.m. 
  • The Ice Rink opening time will be determined Thursday morning. 
  • The Golf Course Pro Shop will open at 10 a.m. The course will be closed for golf, but open for cross-country skiing if enough snow. 
  • Residential and commercial trash collection is anticipated to operate as usual. If your collection day is Thursday, please have your roll carts out by 8 a.m.
  • Other County facilities will have a delayed start from their normal hours of operation.

County Traffic and Street crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY23 Snow and Ice Control Plan. The community can help facilitate snow removal by parking vehicles off the street, if able.

The County’s MyDrive site allows individuals to view conditions of major roadways within Los Alamos County. Users should click the intersection image to activate the live feed on YouTube. Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious of hazardous conditions if you are required to travel during the storm.
