Born in Cleveland, Ohio, the caboose baby of the family, raised at her father’s knee, Frances had a lovely life that came to an end at 94 years of age. She passed as she lived – au natural.
Married three times before she finally married the love of her life, Harris Mayer, who finally bested her by passing first in September, she is survived by her only daughter – Frances “Francie” Deters, two stepchildren – Margo and David, niece – Connie and nephew -Tom.
A woman of many careers and interests, her laughter could be heard above the din of any gathering she attended. A graduate of Wesley and MIT, her careers included physicist (hence her love for Los Alamos), patent agent, real estate agent and computer programmer.
Her hobbies were all about sharing. She was an avid keyboardist who played many concerts around town. She was an avid knitter as any attendee of the Los Alamos farmers market can attest (she handed out hats to all who looked like they could use one). She loved to swim and was a regular at the early morning swims at both Barranca pool and the blue whale. Her passion for many years was bridge and she attained her ultimate goal when she became a life master in 2000.
Her mirth will be missed but she lives on in her grandchildren Mariah and Olivia plus all the needlepoints she made we will have to hang. A memorial will be held 1st weekend in April for both Harris and Frances at their home.
