LAPS NEWS RELEASE
The Los Alamos High School Eco Club invites the community to its first Thrift Sale on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Los Alamos High School Speech Theater.
Signs will be posted on campus to direct buyers to the Speech Theater.
Proceeds from the sale will go to the LAHS Eco Club to work on sustainable projects on the high school campus, including building a greenhouse.
The Eco Club meets every Tuesday to plan sustainable projects on campus. Members are currently working on the thrift sale, electrifying LAHS (banning anything that burns fossil fuels), and a plastic bag ban. Their goal is to help make LAHS a more eco-friendly campus.
There are currently 30 active members of the club. Co-presidents of the Eco Club are Arianne Terrones and Charlotte Butcher. Social media manager and head of the thrift sale is Kaya Loy. LAHS teacher Christina Hum is the club sponsor.
