CM Arbor Care’s ‘Trees Around The World’ Takes First Place In Los Alamos MainStreet Holiday Lights Parade

The magic of the holiday season came alive once again as Central Avenue sparkled with lights during the annual Los Alamos MainStreet Holiday Lights Parade. This year’s celebration, themed “Winter Around the World,” took place on Saturday evening, bringing the community together to kick off the holiday season with creativity and festive cheer.

The panel of esteemed judges for the parade included Jill Lang, Owner of Samizdat Bookstore and Tea House, Brandi Engeman, Executive Director of Los Alamos Arts Council, Connie Goettee of LAPS, and County Councilor, Randall Ryti. Together, they meticulously evaluated 24 entries from local businesses and organizations, considering effort, creativity, and theme portrayal.

Earning top honors was CM Arbor Care with their “Trees Around the World” float, captivating the audience and earning high praise from the judging panel.

Los Alamos Police Department secured the second place spot rolling by in an impressive armored SWAT truck and pulling a Christmas Island Paradise.

In third place, the Elks Lodge rocked out with “Christmas in Brooklyn”courtesy of the Beastie Boys.

The judges also awarded a special G.O.A.T. award to the goat-filled walking float from Stable Owners at North Mesa Stables.
