Shirley Ann Loewenstein, 87, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Saturday November 11, 2023.

Shirley was born in Kearney, Nebraska on March 27, 1936, to Elbert & Delia (Fox) Loewenstein. She attended Los Alamos High School graduating in 1954 and then received several advanced computer certifications for her work at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Tech Supervisor & Systems Specialist. She retired in 1990 after 35 years of service and moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to family.

Over the next 33 years she spent her time taking care of her parents, chasing her nieces and nephews, and sharing her laughter and joy with close friends. Shirley had a personality larger than life and there was nothing more important to her than time with family and friends – we will all sorely miss her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Elbert Loewenstein and Delia Fox, and her brother Curtis Loewenstein. She is survived by her nephew Craig Loewenstein and his wife Carrie, her niece Christie Loewenstein, and her grand nephews and nieces Dylan Loewenstein, Kelsey Loewenstein, Caden Loewenstein, Cavan Loewenstein, Charles Loewenstein, Michael Loewenstein and Chloe Loewenstein.
