Last Chance To See ‘A Drawing Show: The Backbone Of Art’ At Step Up Gallery

Wednesday, Nov. 15 is the last day to see “A Drawing Show: the Backbone of Art” at Step Up Gallery in Mesa Public Library. Many different drawing media are represented in the 52 pieces of art in the exhibit, including drawing pencil, colored pencils, graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, pastel pencil, markers, conte sticks and scratchboard. The subject matter is equally diverse: portraits, human figures, animals, flowers, landscapes, cityscapes and still-lifes. 

A number of Los Alamos area artists are represented by their work in this show. They include Emily Adams, Allison Aiken, Cindy Boone, Rosario Dodd, Jeanne Gibson, Frederick Jones, Siri Sunderi Khalsa, Katy Korkos, Ken Nebel, Rosalia Olivas, Kathi Geoffrion Parker, Rachel Pearson, Catherine Price, and Gloria Sharp. 

Much of the art is for sale and can be purchased online until Nov. 15 at https://stepupgallerymarket.artspan.com/home. Step Up Gallery (upper level), 2400 Central Avenue, Los Alamos is open the same hours as Mesa Public Library: Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; closed Sundays. Admission is free.
