Join C’YA and the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization for their annual fundraiser – Festival of Trees. Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the day to come see Santa, do your holiday shopping, drink hot cocoa and enjoy some sweets. The festival will be held at Betty Ehart Senior Center in Los Alamos.
You will be amazed by the wonderful collection of small, medium and large holiday trees and wreaths decorated by Los Alamos County residents and ready for you to purchase for yourself or a loved one. These items are sold by silent auction – come early, bid and stay late to not be out bid. I bought one of the small trees a few years ago for my son and he still displays it every holiday season. These trees are truly treasures.
What can you look forward to this year? Pictures with Santa of course, a silent auction of more than 80 items, a raffle with many chances to win, live music, a poinsettia sale and gift ideas many from local artists including our own fabulous quilters.
Here are a few of the vendor items you will be able to pick up for yourself or your holiday shopping: hand crafted soaps, jewelry, bird house, ornaments, baked goods and jerky, crocheted animals, wooden headboard, kitchen towels, scarves, ponchos, Paracord team bracelets (Toppers, Lobos, NFL and more), Baby items, small journals with pens, magnets and New Mexico specialty items.
Feel free to wander in on Friday (8:30am-4pm) to place an early bid on an item and then saunter back in on Saturday for the festivities.
