National Public Radio calls her “one of the most compelling songwriters of our time.” She is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer who added the prestigious overall Grand Prize and First Place in the folk category for the 27th USA Songwriting Competition to her list of songwriting awards. She is the lead singer and songwriter for the wildly successful band, The Accidentals. Michigan native and current Nashville resident Sav Buist will bring her amazing talent to Los Alamos on Sunday, Nov. 12.

Buist co-wrote the song Michigan and Again which many in the “Great Lakes State” argue should be the official state song. Jonathan Lathrop, president of Live in Los Alamos, the non-profit that is hosting Buist recalls being struck by the number of Michiganders who were wiping tears from their eyes when he saw Buist perform it in July. “I was already mesmerized by this woman’s voice, musicianship and songwriting, but seeing the Michiganders respond to that song was something special,” Lathrop said of the show he took in in Michigan. “I thought, the folks in Los Alamos need to see this incredible talent.”

Because Sav Buist will be playing at SALA tickets will be limited. They can be purchased on or at the Los Alamos Schools Credit Union to avoid a service fee. Dinner and drinks (beer and wine from Bathtub Row) will be available when doors open at 5:00pm. Music will start at 6:00.
