This year’s Los Alamos Elks Lodge #2083 is pleased to announce that their annual Charity Golf Tournament raised $10,000 which was recently donated to several local and state organizations.
Exalted Ruler Ben Bouman, Past Exalted Ruler Troy Calloway and Golf Tournament Chair Jeff Goettee presented a check in the amount of $8,000 to Make-A-Wish New Mexico.
“Make-A-Wish New Mexico is so grateful for the continued support of Los Alamos Elks Lodge #2083,” said Sara Lister, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish New Mexico. “They have helped make wishes a reality for many kids through their annual golf tournament and they truly provide the gift of hope to a child battling a critical illness.”
The UNM Children’s Hospital received $1,000, and the STEM Santa Fe Pathways for Girls received $500.
A $500 check from the golf tournament, along with a $500 grant, was presented to the Los Alamos Junior Golf Program. Ivan Appert, the new head pro at the Los Alamos Golf Course, was grateful for the funds which will be used to purchase new equipment for the program which introduces young girls and boys to the game of golf.
