XI NU NEWS RELEASE
There will be a craft fair at the Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road, Los Alamos this Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fifty vendors will be present selling everything from knitted items to fine jewelry, from Mexican foods to stained glass, from sewn items to Acoma pottery, from wood carvings to photographs to religious icons and rosaries.
There will also be a raffle with drawings starting at 11:00 a.m. for items donated by each vendor, culminating with the drawing for a quilt about 2:45 p.m. The quilt “Winter Wishes”, is 56” by 67 inches, and was donated by one of our sorority members. Winners need not be present to receive their prizes.
This is the 36th annual craft fair presented by the XiNu chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi international service sorority, and is the only fundraiser for this chapter. Members of the other two Beta Sigma Phi chapters in town will assist at the craft fair. All proceeds are donated to designated community service projects in Northern New Mexico, nationally, and internationally. Local recipients typically include the Adopt-a-Family program for Christmas, the New Mexico Wildlife Center, PEEC, Self Help, Senior Appreciation Night at LAHS, and the Los Alamos Council on Cancer, while national recipients include the National Federation for the Blind. American Red Cross, and various cancer research groups.
We hope to see you there.
