County Reminds Community That Climate Action Survey Closes Wednesday

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County’s Sustainability Manager Angelica Gurule reminds individuals who live or work in Los Alamos County that it is not too late to complete the Climate Action survey. The survey can be accessed at www.lacnm.com/CAPSurvey until 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Gurule thanks those who have already taken the time to complete the survey and encourages those who have not to do so before it closes. The results will be used to inform the first-ever Los Alamos Climate Action Plan, an important step in shaping the county’s commitment to reduce environmental impacts and prepare for a sustainable and resilient future.

Gurule explains that the survey is anonymous, although if survey takers choose, they may provide a name and email for future updates on the project. The survey asks responders to prioritize environmental concerns, identify measures the county could implement, and specify how passive or aggressive the county should react. Survey results will be used to develop targets and strategies for the Climate Action Plan, anticipated to be complete in 2024.

Additional information regarding the survey and the Climate Action Plan can be accessed at the County’s Sustainability website: www.lacnm.com/sustainability. Results from the survey will be shared on the website in November.
