ASPEN PTO NEW RELEASE
Last Friday, September 22, the students at Aspen Elementary School spent their Homecoming morning running in the yearly Tiger Trot fundraiser. Although the focus on this event is exercise and getting the students outside in a positive atmosphere filled with parent support, it is also a fundraiser for Aspen PTO. Students had the opportunity to have family and friends sponsor their run, asking them to donate a set amount or amount per lap. Aspen PTO welcomes more donations through Sept. 30 at https://app.99pledges.com/fund/tigertrot2023. Funds are set to go towards a new marquee, filling the new book vending library, and field trips and classroom funds for all grades and teachers.
This year, our students and families broke both records – they raised more than $11,000 and ran 568 miles, 21 more miles (105 more laps) than last year! As a special treat for surpassing the goals, the principal and vice-principal will kiss a goat this Friday!!
Aspen PTO, staff, and families are so proud and impressed by these students. Huge thank you goes out to Aspen PTO volunteers, DJ Lil Bzzz, Heart & Sole, Odyssey of the Mind, the principal and staff at Aspen, and all the parents who came out to cheer our students!
