American Legion Post 90 Riders and Auxiliary will be collecting sponsorships and donations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at Metzger’s Hardware Store in Los Alamos for wreaths for this year’s Wreaths Across America Day Dec. 16 at Guaje Pines Cemetery. The mission of the Wreaths Across America program is to remember our fallen veterans, honor those who serve and teach the next generation the value of freedom. Each year, wreaths are placed at some 2,700 locations throughout the country. You can sponsor a wreath to place yourself at the cemetery Dec. 16 or you can sponsor wreaths to be placed on the graves of other veterans who are buried there.
