LAPS FOUNDATION NEWS RELEASE

The online silent auction for the LAPS Foundation’s Taste of Knowledge event is now live! More than 30 silent auction items were generously donated by local businesses, organizations and community members. Even those not attending the event can place their bids on auction items at https://TOK23.givesmart.com (click on Register to Participate). The auction will close at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17.

Taste of Knowledge is a fundraiser for the Los Alamos Public Schools. Proceeds will benefit teachers, staff, students and facilities. There are still a few remaining tickets available for the event which is at Fuller Lodge this Sunday, Sept. 17 from 4-7pm.  

An incredible menu themed after the Manhattan Project era will be included by Pig + Fig Café with six dining stations including: Assorted Deviled Eggs—classic, candied bacon, lemon-chive; Finger Sandwiches—smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese, pimento cheese, chicken salad; Shrimp Cocktail Bar—chilled boiled shrimp with traditional accompaniments, cocktail sauce, remoulade sauce, lemon wedges, shaved iceberg, diced cucumber; Fruit—fresh fruit kebobs and ambrosia cups; Hot Hors d’oevres—Swedish meatballs, salmon croquettes, stuffed mushrooms; and finally for Dessert—“Edith Warner’s” chocolate cake.  A selection of wines and beer from Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op will also be served.
