COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Repairs are scheduled for Monday where a water main is leaking at the corner of North Road and Urban Street. Gas, Water & Sewer workers from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will begin work at 8 a.m. and expect to be finished by 4 p.m.

Anyone traveling in the vicinity of Urban Park will see traffic controls and flagging in the work zone. The eastbound lane of Urban Street and the southbound lane of North Road will be closed at the intersection.

Residents in the area sandwiched between Diamond Drive and North Road, and Sycamore and the south edge of the Mountain School property should expect their water service to be turned off at some point between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mountain School is not expected to lose water service.

Water is likely to leak at the intersection over the course of the weekend and DPU requests that the leak not be called in to the standby crews. The work is scheduled for Monday so that parts necessary for the repair can be procured.
