Los Alamos Public Schools Supt. Jennifer Guy on Thursday evening issued comments on allegations of misconduct by members of the Volleyball program coaching staff during Friday’s lock-in event at Los Alamos High School. Her comments are as follows:
“I am writing to follow up on the investigation into some allegations of misconduct by the coaching staff at the Volleyball lock-in event on Friday, August 18, 2023.
“On Monday, August 21, 2023, the district began an investigation into reports that members of the coaching staff had alcohol on campus. The district has thoroughly reviewed video footage from the night and interviewed staff, parents, and students. We were not able to identify clear evidence of possession of alcohol on campus.
“In the course of our investigation, we did identify issues with lack of adult supervision of students. To the extent that we identified any wrongdoing by the staff present, we have taken appropriate action.“
Sources have been emailing the Los Alamos Reporter about the situation and an investigation was also being conducted by Los Alamos Police Department.
