YMCA’s Annual Golf Classic Raises $20,000 For Scholarships Fund

The 14th annual Family YMCA Golf Classic took place Friday, August 11 at Los Alamos Golf Course.

Ashley Sullivan read an impact story from one of The Family YMCA’s scholarship recipients. There were 25 teams with 99 players participating on the course for the kids.

Golfers enjoyed 18 holes along with a chance to win $10,000 for a hole in one and a variety of games at select holes.

The annual event grossed more than $20,000 for Y program scholarships. YMCA staff could never have done it without its sponsors, players and donors.

Golfers purchased 85 bomb balls, which will directly benefit the youth. The tradition of the bomb ball was created in 2018 by Matt Schmidt as a fun way of improving players’ games and winning an extra raffle prize.
