Response To Rheta Moazzami’s Letter

BY PAUL GESSING
Executive Director
Rio Grande Foundation

Rheta Moazzami obviously has different views from me on why New Mexico’s children again have the worst conditions in the entire nation on the recent “Kids Count” report. That’s fine and disagreements over hotly contested policy issues are common. What I take issue with is her assertion that this should somehow cost us our 501c3 status.

Rio Grande Foundation is not a partisan organization, but that doesn’t prevent us from developing opinions based on our research. She may disagree, but I recommend that if you think we are wrong about anything we have to say, please do your own research and feel free to refute it. The Rio Grande Foundation’s work is based on research and sussing out core facts about New Mexico’s education and economic systems. We take great pride in our work and appreciate the opportunity to debate these issues with those who disagree.
