In a recent virtual meeting held on Google Meet, notable attendees included Larry Sheffield, acclaimed producer, Todd Nichols, Executive Director of Los Alamos Historical Society, JJ Mortensen of the J. Robert Oppenheimer Memorial Committee, and Allan Saenz, owner of SALA Event Center. Regrettably, Charles Oppenheimer was unable to attend the meeting.
During the gathering, Larry Sheffield and Allan Saenz made a significant announcement and presented a donation of $1,000 to each of the non-profit organizations involved in the world premiere event of “Oppenheimer After Trinity.” The premiere, which took place on April 22 and April 23 was a resounding success with all four showings sold out. Due to popular demand, additional showings have been scheduled from May 25 to May 28, with two shows per day. Tickets are still available, providing an incredible opportunity to experience this award-winning documentary and gain deeper insights into the life of Oppenheimer before Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated movie.
“We are delighted to support these non-profit organizations that play a vital role in preserving history and promoting educational initiatives,” stated Larry Sheffield, the esteemed producer. “It’s our honor to contribute to the success of ‘Oppenheimer After Trinity’ and further raise awareness about the extraordinary life and achievements of J. Robert Oppenheimer.”
Allan Saenz, owner of SALA Event Center, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “The response to the premiere has been overwhelming, and we are thrilled to host additional screenings. The opportunity to present $1,000 to each of the non-profit organizations involved not only reflects our commitment to our community but also allows us to contribute to the preservation of the historical significance represented by these organizations.”
Todd Nichols, Executive Director of Los Alamos Historical Society, expressed his appreciation, saying, “We are honored to receive this generous donation from SALA Event Center. The funds will enable us to continue our mission of preserving and sharing the history of Los Alamos, including the significant contributions of J. Robert Oppenheimer.”
JJ Mortensen of The J. Robert Oppenheimer Memorial Committee also expressed gratitude, stating, “This contribution will help us further our efforts to honor the legacy of J. Robert Oppenheimer and provide scholarships.”
In conjunction with the film screenings, Bathtub Row will be on-site, offering a selection of beer and wine on Friday and Saturday, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
The organizers extend their sincere gratitude to the SALA members whose support has made this event possible. Their commitment to enriching the community is truly commendable.
