The most powerful aurora in years was visible from Los Alamos Sunday night. Photographer Glen Wurden said it is extremely unusual to see one this far south. This is looking north from White Rock (towards Espanola), 10:40 p.m. using a Nikon D810A at ISO6400 with 15 mm wide angle f/4.5 lens, and a 30 second exposure on a static tripod. ‘Beautiful in the photo, but you actually couldn’t see it with the naked eye,’ Wurden said.
