County: Get The Inside Scoop On ‘The Official Cookbook  Of The Chile Pepper Institute’

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Mesa Public Library will host a virtual author talk with the creators of The Official Cookbook of the Chile Pepper Institute, Paul Bosland and Wendy  Hamilton, live streaming from Las Cruces on Thursday, April 13 from 7 to 8 p.m. This program is ideal for foodies and those who want to learn more about New Mexico’s most beloved and versatile food: the chile pepper!

New Mexico State University’s world-famous Chile Pepper Institute is the only organization  devoted entirely to the study, cultivation, and enjoyment of the world’s favorite fiery fruit. This  new book is your guide to cooking with chile peppers in all their magnificent, flavorful varieties.  The book includes over 80 recipes celebrating the world’s diversity of chile peppers and more  than 100 photos of chile peppers in the field, at the market, and on your plate. It is the only book  organized to include almost every chile pepper variety worldwide, and includes each chile’s history, where it originated and where it is grown now, and its flavor profile, heat index, and  common uses.

This program coincides with planting season and can help you make informed decisions for your  spring garden. For those who would like to take it a step further, please stop by Mesa Public  Library to explore all of the seeds available to library patrons from our new Seed Library.

This virtual livestream event is free to the public and is made possible by the generous support of  the Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries. To attend this event, please register through the  library’s event calendar at LosAlamosLibrary.org or call (505) 662-8257.
