SALA Event Center announces a lineup of events for the week of March 27 to April 2:

Wednesday kicks off the week with the popular “After School Program” 1-5 p.m. The event will include games on the big screen, arcade games, and kids can bring their own devices and play videogames in the movie theater and lobby projectors. Additionally, SALA will host the “Los Alamos Got Talent” talent contest for elementary students. Participants stand a chance to win amazing awards. The day will end with the first run movie Shazam, screening at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Thursday’s events will include Shazam at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m, followed by a two-part talk themed “Women” in honor of international women’s month. The first event, “Empowering Women at Work: Insights from LANL’s Employee Resource Groups,” will be presented by Olga Martin from LANL Atomic Women, Jen Payne from LANL Institutional Women’s Group, and Carolyn Connor from LANL Women of Computing. The second event, “From Women’s Suffrage to Local Governance: A Historical Perspective from the League of Women Voters,” will be presented by Jody Benson and Rebecca Shankland. These talks promise to provide valuable insights into how women have made significant contributions to society.

Friday will be an evening of Shazam at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Saturday’s activities begin with “PJ’s and Cartoons” at 9 a.m. The 2023 Oscar-winning film “Everything Everywhere, All at Once” will be screened at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.. To celebrate Easter, SALA will present “The Ten Commandments” under their “Beyond the Tomb” Classics program.

Sunday will end the week with a screening of “Everything Everywhere, All at Once” at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
