DOG JOG NEWS RELEASE
Alyssa Sanders, a 6th grade student at Aspen Elementary School, is this year’s winner of the Dog Jog Logo contest. Her drawing will be the official logo for this year’s Dog Jog event and she will receive a free t-shirt featuring her artwork. Talent obviously runs in the family – Alyssa’s older brother Neil won the Dog Jog logo contest in 2020. The winners are chosen on the basis of artistic merit, creativity and originality.
The other young artists recognized this year include a second place tie by Quyen Nguyen and Dillon Regele. Third place this year goes to Karina Cai and her adorable Pomeranian. We want to thank all of our young artists for their talent and enthusiasm.
The 2023 Los Alamos Dog Jog will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 9 a.m. at Rover Park in White Rock. For more information, visit our website www.lafos.org. We hope to see you there. To save $5, pre-register by Sunday April 7 – send your registration form and payment to Dog Jog Registrar at 155 Monte Rey S., Los Alamos, NM 87547.
Dogs, of course, not only get to participate for free, they get a special doggie prize at the finish line. The 2023 Dog Jog offers both a timed 5K course and a non-competitive 2-mile walk. And we will be holding to our very fun in-person and in dog prize ceremony. We will have prizes for fastest doggie finishers and for cutest ears, best wag, and many other fine doggie characteristics.
You can get entry forms at Pet Pangaea or Ridgeview Veterinary Hospital or download one at www.lafos.org. And we will have day-of registration starting at 8:10 a.m. at Rover Park. All participants will get a t-shirt with Alyssa’s uplifting and imaginative design!
