Democratic Party of Los Alamos
To Los Alamos Democrats,
It has been a privilege to serve as your Chair for the last four years. March 28 will be the end of my current term. I will not be seeking another term at this time, but I am proud of our accomplishments since 2019.
We have had consistently record breaking and/or top-three voter turnout in the state, while increasing the number of registered Democrats in Los Alamos County. With the hard work of new volunteers, we have improved access to party engagement by holding low-dollar fundraisers and centrally located meet and greets with state and federal candidates. We have provided free child care so parents with young children can participate without additional financial strain.
The 2021-2023 County Central Committee extended the accessibility of absentee voting that Democrats support in our public elections to the deliberations of our internal party proceedings in another effort to embody core Democratic values of diversity and inclusivity. Our volunteers have innovated to meet the needs of 21st century campaigns as our big tent grows ever bigger, and, of course, as we continue to elect Democrats up and down the ballot and deliver votes for our district, statewide, and federal candidates.
Our volunteers are the beating heart of this party; you are what has given Los Alamos a statewide reputation for electing Democrats. My time as Chair working with you has been an extraordinary experience. I am grateful for everything I have learned and the support I have received from so many people in the local party, in statewide campaigns, and at the state level.
I am excited to continue collaborating with community members and many of my fellow Democrats in the coming months as I begin the next stages of my work in Los Alamos County and New Mexico progressive politics.
It has been my honor to serve and represent this exceptional group of Democrats, and I wish the next leadership of the Democratic Party of Los Alamos County the very best in their endeavors.
Soon-to-be-former Chair, Democratic Party of Los Alamos County
