CORO DE CAMERA NEWS RELEASE
Through its recent “Water Is Life” Art Contest, Coro de Cámara encouraged talented high school artists in Santa Fe, Española, and Pojoaque to create works dealing with water’s fundamental role in our lives. The contest accompanies the chamber chorus’s upcoming “Agua-Vida” concerts on February 25 and 26.
Alexia Laweka of the Santa Fe Indian School submitted the winning entry. Her impressive visual depiction of “Water Is Life” is included in Coro’s “Agua-Vida” publicity materials, on the corodecamara-nm.org website, and on the cover of the concert program. In addition, Laweka’s original artwork will be displayed in the performance venues for patrons to admire.
Runner-up Lindsay Angulo of Española Valley High School submitted the intriguing painting, “Submerged by Life,” which will also appear in Coro’s printed concert program and on display. Both artists will be congratulated and recognized at the ”Agua-Vida” performances.
