EAA NEWS RELEASE
Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 691 is planning a one day Young Eagles Workshop for kids age 11-17 on Saturday March 11, 2023 at the Los Alamos Airport Terminal building. The workshop will run from 8:30am to 3:30pm. The goal of the workshop is to introduce kids to the world of aviation. We will be teaching them about how airplanes are controlled and flown. They will also learn about various forms of navigation and how pilots communicate with each other and Air Traffic Control. They will learn how aircraft are built and will each get to build a wooden rib for a wing.
The workshop will consist of presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. There will be no plane rides given at the Workshop, but we are planning a Young Eagles Rally later in the year where kids can get a ride. The workshop is free. Kids will need to bring their own lunch, but drinks and snacks will be provided. Parents are encouraged to participate as well.
Preregistration is required to attend the event. Parents can email Walt Atchison at wla116920@gmail.com or Will Fox @ tailspinfox@gmail.com to register and obtain the necessary permission forms.
