HISTORICAL SOCIETY NEWS RELEASE
Dr. Siegfried Hecker, former Los Alamos National Laboratory director, returns 5:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 7 for the release, signing, and discussion of his latest book, Hinge Points: An Inside Look at North Korea’s Nuclear Program, written with Elliot Serbin, former research associate at the Center for Global Security Research.
The book analyzes the diplomacy and nuclear development as it addresses the question of how North Korea, one of the poorest and most isolated countries in the world and in the crosshairs of every U.S. administration during the past 30 years, progressed from no nuclear weapons in 2001 to a threatening arsenal of 30 to 60 weapons today.
The signing in Fuller Lodge will be accompanied by a continuous loop slide show of Dr. Hecker’s photographs from his seven visits to North Korea.
Books will be on sale at this event sponsored by the Los Alamos Historical Society.
