Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you may be happy to hear that effective immediately, the Speedway Gas Station and Convenience Store at 11 Rover Blvd. in White Rock is open 24 hours a day.

Store manager Freddie Freyer told the Reporter on Sunday that he excited to be able to provide this service and convenience, but it will depend on the patronage of people in the community as well as those who drive through White Rock on their way to and from work. He is hoping that the additional hours will be of service to those who will be working night shifts at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Hot food will be available throughout the night, as well as cheeseburgers, burritos and sandwiches in the cooler that can be heated up. Fresh coffee will be available all night. Alcohol sales will stop at midnight and recommence at 7 a.m.

The car wash is also available and the air machine and vacuum are usually available.

Freyer, a long-time employee of the gas station, says it has been fully staffed for a little over a year. He expects to hire an additional employee that can work different shifts in case of call outs.
