After splitboarding down Pajarito Mountain alongside Gato the Flying Snow Dog on his lunch break, James Wernicke said it was a bluebird day at Pajarito on Wednesday after three days of snowfall. ‘The mountain has been full of local ski bums and xc ski teams who have anxiously waited for there to be enough snow to xc ski, splitboard, and snowshoe. There isn’t yet enough for the ski area to start running lift service, but the mountain is open to the public anytime for those wishing to earn their turns. Friday’s full moon will offer an opportunity for some moonlight runs,” Wernicke said. Courtesy photo
