LWV NEWS RELEASE
The League of Women Voters of Los Alamos and the American Association of University Women invite the community to Fuller Lodge for the 2023 Legislative Preview from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5.
Our legislators—Representative Christine Chandler and Senators Roberto Gonzales and Leo Jaramillo—have agreed to come and share their views on the upcoming session. In addition, Kristina Fisher, Associate Executive Director of Think New Mexico (TNM), will explain TNM’s legislative recommendations for education reform in the state. All speakers will answer questions from the audience.
The 2023 New Mexico Legislative Session will begin in Santa Fe on January 17 and continue for 60 days, ending on March 18. Bills may be pre-filed beginning on January 3.
To learn more about this legislative session, plan to join League members on League Day at the Legislature on February 16. You need not be a League member—just interested in engaging in the democratic process. Visit the LWVNM website, http://www.lwvnm.org for details.
