Tree branches falling on power line on Barranca Mesa and at Elk Ridge Mobile Home Park caused power outages in both areas, according to Department of Public Utilities public information officer Cathy D’Anna. Power has been restored to both areas by DPU employees.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has advised people to take advisories warn New Mexicans to take precautions against record cold temperatures and high winds that are predicted mostly for the northeast part of the state through Friday. Winds are expected to weaken later in the day Thursday.
The weather forecast overnight is predicting cloudy skies with a low of 25 degrees and winds 5-10 mph. Similar weather is expected on Friday.
