Wreaths Across America Day To Be Observed Saturday Morning At Guaje Pines Cemetery

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA NEWS

Local “Wreaths Across America” volunteers are working hard to ensure that all veterans laid to rest at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos are honored this December as part of National Wreaths Across America Day.

This year Wreaths Across America Day is Saturday, Dec. 17. The community is encouraged and invited to join volunteers at 10 a.m. at Guaje Pines Cemetery to Remember, Honor and Teach about the community’s heroes. More than 400 wreaths will need to be placed.

This year, ceremonies will be held at 3,679 participating locations nationally, and 26 overseas cemeteries with the placing of nearly 3 million wreaths for interred veterans. The goal is to place a live, balsam fir veteran’s wreath the headstone of every American veteran to remember their sacrifice, honor their service, and teach the next generation about the value of freedom.
