Opening Of ‘Cochon’ Restaurant On Central Avenue Delayed Until Next Summer

PIG + FIG NEWS RELEASE

Laura Crucet of Pig + Fig Cafe in White Rock was set to open a second concept called “Cochon” in January 2023. Due to some unexpected water damage uncovered during initial renovations, Cochon has delayed their opening date.

Owner Laura Crucet stated: “I want to do this right because I hope to keep this space for a long time. I feel like I made a lot of mistakes during the renovation of the White Rock space because I was in such a hurry to open and so I’m going to take my time and do things correctly this time around. The space has to make sense for us and our customers and that means some major renovations that will take some time.”|

Some of the largest renovations include the addition of two doors (another one for customers and one for deliveries and staff) and the enclosure of patio space along the front. Cochon hopes to have a more defined timeline in the near future after assessing the breadth of all the renovations that need to take place but hopes to be open by next summer.

Cochon will be open seven days a week and will offer pastries, coffees, salads, sandwiches and snacks. After obtaining a liquor license, they will also add wine, beer and cocktails to their repertoire.

Once Cochon moves into the space, all four store front businesses in that building will be women-owned small businesses!
