LOS ALAMOS MAINSTREET NEWS RELEASE

The annual Los Alamos MainStreet Holiday Lights Parade, with a “There’s Gnome Place Like Home” theme, took place Saturday evening along Central Avenue.

Judges included UNMLA Chancellor, Mike Holtzclaw, PEEC Marketing Manager, Teianna Mitchell, and Los Alamos County Councilor Keith Lepsch. The trio judged 29 entries from local businesses and organizations on their effort, creativity, and theme portrayal. Donavan Price from Enterprise National Bank served as the parade announcer.

Judges gave top honors to the DMR Window Cleaning and Pressure Washing.  A depiction of Gnomes in their winter forest home, complete with Mushroom Houses was a delight to all. The bubbles in particular were an added element that enchanted thousands of viewers.

Second place was awarded to New Beginnings Fellowship with their “Gnome place like Gnome” themed float.  And lastly, Los Alamos Medical Center took third with a Wizard of Oz theme that included Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Los Alamos WinterFest festivities continued throughout the weekend. For more information go to www.LosAlamosMainStreet.com/Events/WinterFest.

Los Alamos MainStreet would like to extend a sincere thanks to the 2022 WinterFest sponsor, Los Alamos County, as well as our judges and announcer.
