COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
Did you know that Los Alamos County Library System offers free digital access to New York Times Games such as Wordle, Sudoku, Crossword and Mini Crossword, Spelling Bee, and more? The local libraries are even hosting a fun two-month-long, self-paced challenge around this service to familiarize library users with the individual games (fun freebies and incentives included)! To participate, just swing by a library service desk to request a game sheet or download one from the library event calendar.
The holiday season is a great time to engage friends and family in games or to curl up on your own to tackle the challenges. Access and learn each of the games within minutes through a user friendly digital platform. Pair this service with the structure of the library’s bingo-style, self paced challenge and you’ll be an expert NYT gamer in no time! You’ll also earn a completion prize (mini Rubik’s cube, anyone?) and a chance to win a Brain Games puzzle book.
The library strives to offer a wide range of regular live programming to the Los Alamos community and will be taking a break from mid-December through the end of January to plan next year’s offerings. In lieu of live programming during this time, library users are encouraged to participate either in the NYT Games challenge outlined above, or the Native American Heritage reading and activity challenge (both of which are offered through the end of January as self-paced programs).
For more information about either of these programs or the library’s live program offerings, please visit the event calendar at LosAlamosLibrary.org. Library programs and services are made possible by the generous support of Friends of Los Alamos County Library System.
