Give The Gift Of Girl Scouts And Grab A Free Activity Kit For The Holidays

Parents and grandparents looking for a creative and enriching holiday gift are in  luck! Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails is offering a free Girl Scout Activity Kit for all new Girl Scouts who sign up before  December 31. Families who sign up by Dec . will receive the activity kit in time to give it as a holiday gift. 

Each Girl Scout Activity Kit includes: 

• an “I Can Do It!” scrapbook for her to decorate with stickers, embellishments, and other fun frills and trimmings to  show she’s well on her way to becoming tomorrow’s leader 

• a Girl Scout “I Did It!” SWAP (Some Whatchamacallit Affectionately Pinned Somewhere) bracelet to make for herself  or give to a new Girl Scout friend 

• a “Together We Can Do It!” fun patch — her first patch as a new Girl Scout 

“Joining Girl Scouts can be a life-changing experience for a girl or young woman. Studies show that participating for as little as  one year can dramatically improve long-term education, career, and financial outcomes,” said Rebecca Latham, CEO of Girl  Scouts of New Mexico Trails. “We have troops across central and northern New Mexico who would love to welcome new girls,  or we can provide all of the tools are resources for families to create their own Girl Scouting adventure.” 

For 110 years, Girl Scouts has been the preeminent leadership organization for girls and young women around the world. Girl  Scouts offers programs, events, and activities that foster interest in STEM, entrepreneurship, outdoor education, civics and  democracy, global stewardship, travel, and life skills. Girl Scouts is open to all girls in kindergarten through 12th grade, with  each girl having the opportunity to earn her Bronze Award in elementary school, Silver Award in middle school, and Gold  Award in high school. 

To sign up for Girl Scouts and receive your free Girl Scout Activity Kit go to NMGirlScouts.org and click through to the  registration form. Once your registration is received, Girl Scouts will help you find the right troop for your girl based on  location, interests, and schedule, or speak with you about participating as an individually registered member (no troop  affiliation). The cost to register is $40 per girl and $25 per adult, and financial aid is available.
