Los Alamos Young Guns competed last weekend at the second New Mexico High School Clay Target Association Zone 1 Competition in Albuquerque.
Participants were Kadin Hansel, Gavin Robles, Matthew Nowell, Ana Schmitz, Alyssa Vigil, Dylan Munoz and Sam Nowell.
Coach Mike O’Neill won the Coaches Challenge with a three-way tie and a shoot off in Annie Oakley.
Kadin Hansel took first in Singles Intermediate Male Division, second in Doubles Intermediate Male Division and second in Handicap Intermediate Male Division.
In the Female Varsity Ladies Singles, Ana Schmitz took first and Alyssa Vigil took second.
In the Female Varsity Handicap, Ana Schmitz took first and Alyssa Vigil took second.
In Female Varsity Doubles, Ana Schmitz took first and Alyssa Vigil took second.
In Male Varsity Doubles, Gavin Robles took first and Matthew Nowell took third.
Ana Schmitz took High Over-All Female.
Alyssa Vigil took first in Varsity Female Skeet and Doubles Skeet.
Gavin Robles took second in Varsity Male Sporting Clays.
Matthew Nowell took second in Varsity Male Skeet and Doubles Skeet.
Three of our Young Gun competitors placed in the IRON MAN competition which included: Alyssa Vigil shot 432 clay targets, Gavin Robles shot 445 clay targets and Matthew Nowell shot 461 clay targets out of 550 targets.
