County: Broadband Survey Close This Friday, Recording Of Community Broadband Forum Posted Online

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County Broadband Manager Jerry Smith extends his thanks to the many Los Alamos residents and businesses that have taken the time to complete the comprehensive broadband survey and speed test. For community members who have not yet taken the survey, Smith encourages them to do so before the deadline on October 28, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. by visiting https://lacnm.com/Broadband

As part of the Los Alamos County broadband initiative, Smith emphasized that the survey results are essential to pinpoint underserved areas and possibly qualify for federal and state grants geared to improving access, reliability and affordability of high-speed internet.

Additionally, Los Alamos County and its consultant, CTC Technology and Energy, hosted a Community Broadband Forum last Wednesday, Oct. 19. Members of the community engaged in person and virtually with the county on the broadband project, preliminary findings, and potential business models. The meeting was recorded and can be viewed at https://lacnm.com/Broadband.
