Los Alamos County Council

My name is Theresa Cull and I’m running for Los Alamos County Council.  I’ve been canvassing in Los Alamos and White Rock and I know and have met many people in the County, but I’d like to introduce myself to those who may not know me.  I came to Los Alamos over 39 years ago for a job at the Laboratory and fell in love with this unique small town and its environment.  I came here from Texas, but I spent my earlier years in a small town outside Philadelphia, so I feel right at home here. 

I’ve raised two children and I have been involved in, or volunteered for, many of their activities.  I’ve been a sports coach (soccer, baseball, volleyball, wrestling, and shotgun), and I serve as a youth advisor at the Unitarian Church, which has included five consecutive spring break trips to build houses in Mexico.  I have also contributed to the community by serving on boards of the Unitarian Church, Los Alamos/Santa Fe PFLAG, Sage Cottage Preschool, and the Los Alamos Golf Association.  I retired from the Laboratory in 2020 after a career in environment, safety, and health and management.  That career also included participation in many of the diversity efforts at the Laboratory. 

I believe my many years in the community and my experience at LANL position me well as a County Councilor.  I’m a good listener and I appreciate the diversity of opinions and needs in this community.  Based on feedback I’ve received so far, business development and support, affordable and available housing, and County services (expanding days/hours for Atomic City Transit; permit process turnaround; the Nuisance Code; trails development and maintenance; entertainment amenities for children and youth) are some of the areas that continue to need attention.  I’m ready to work for you and would appreciate your vote in the general election.
