COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
In appreciation for their customers and in observance of national Customer Service Week, the staff of the Los Alamos County Customer Care Center will host its annual customer service fair on Oct. 5. The event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the lobby of the Los Alamos County Municipal Building at 1000 Central Ave.
The public is invited to stop by for refreshments and a variety of giveaways and information on projects, programs and services from various county departments. To recognize the importance of customer service and the people who serve and support customers every day, the U.S. Congress proclaimed in 1992 that Customer Service Week be a national event. It is celebrated annually during the first week in October.
Representatives of the Los Alamos County’s Customer Care Center will accept a proclamation denoting the special week from the County Council at the Los Alamos County Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Coinciding with Customer Service Week, national Public Power Week is also on the calendar for the first full week of October every year. As the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is a community-owned utility, DPU’s table at the customer service fair will include coloring sheets for children and photo props featuring The Monster Detective Collective. This new program is designed to make learning about power fun and is being rolled out by the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) in coordination with DPU.
The following additional departments will have tables set up at the customer service fair: the County Manager’s Office, Human Resources, Atomic City Transit, Environmental Services, the County Clerk’s Office, Los Alamos Fire Department, the County Assessor’s Office and the Community Development Department.
