COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Join the anticipation of the upcoming ski season at Pajarito Mountain with the lively celebration of Ullr Fest, September 10 beginning at 9am. Hosted by Pajarito Mountain and the Los Alamos Ski Club, Ullr Fest will feature local craft beer, live music, lift-served hiking and biking and a Strava downhill mountain bike race.

“Ski season in Los Alamos is a highly anticipated time of year,” said Kelly Stewart with Los Alamos County’s Economic Development Division. “As the weather begins to cool off and the leaves begin to change this fall, it creates a scenic setting for Ullr Fest. Add in costumes, local beer, live music, and mountain biking, and it’s an event you won’t want to miss. We invite all to don a viksø helmet and Viking costume and come join in the fun of counting down the days until the town turns into a winter wonderland with some of the best skiing in the state at Pajarito Mountain.”

Ullr Fest events run from 9am to 5pm, with lifts running from 9am to 3pm and the Strava downhill race taking place from 9am to 3pm. The café will be open throughout the event, and costumes are encouraged.

As part of the event, the New Mexico Craft Beer Fest will take place from noon to 5pm, featuring brews from Bathtub Row, Beer Creek, Boxing Bear, Boese, Canteen, Ex Novo, Marble, Red River, Second Street and Sidetrack, as well as live music from Santa Fe-based, rock fusion band, Pigment. Entry to the beer garden is $20 and includes a glass and the first fill.
