The Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization will attempt in-door dining starting Thursday, Sept. 1 from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Meal service still meal requires a reservation before 10 a.m, but this time, you can count on something new.
“Our programs will try to take reservations for 2-4 people, and hold your table,” said Bernadette Lauritzen, LARSO Director. “The goal is to get more people in, if they know who will be at their table.”
The programs will still have some guidelines including; spaced tables and chairs, with four allowed at each table and doors opened to the outside to enhance ventilation. Staff members are still required to wear masks. Lauritzen said the goal is safety and while Los Alamos has recently entered the low category the numbers have increased twice since the date was selected.
“We still have to follow some rules,” said Lauritzen. “By October, we’d like to be as ‘normal,’ as possible,” she said. “If the rules can’t be followed, we’ll be forced to shut things down once again. We’re asking for simple changes to get there.”
Tables of up to four can be reserved by calling the location where you plan to eat, but all names must be submitted before 10 a.m. Membership to the centers is FREE for those 60 and over and a suggested donation for lunch is just $5.
