Los Alamos Community Winds

The Los Alamos Community Winds will begin rehearsals for its 23rd concert season on Tuesday, August 23 at 7:15 p.m. in the LAHS Band Room. We would like to invite any and all players of woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments. We are in particular need of Trombones and Percussion. There is no audition. Just show up with your instrument ready to play.

Always striving to perform to a high level of musicianship and quality, in it’s 22-year history, LACW has been recognized nationally by winning first runner-up in the community band division of the 2011 American Prize. Additionally, this past season, the band traveled to Hawaii where it participated in the 80th Anniversary Pearl Harbor Memorial Celebration and this past May, LACW co-hosted the Association of Concert Bands National Convention which was held in Santa Fe.

Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 7:15-9:15 p.m. at the LAHS band room. This season’s scheduled performances are:

October 1 – Evening of Arts and Culture

October 8 – Fall Concert 

December 3 – Holiday Concert

March 11, 2023 – Mid-Winter Concert

May 13, 2023 – Season Finale
