LOS ALAMOS JJAB NEWS RELEASE

Summer is only halfway through, but we’ll be at the start of a new school year before we know it. This means it’s time to start of our annual school supply drive, one of Los Alamos JJAB’s favorite initiatives for supporting our local youth and families.

For the past six years, JJAB has raised funds to provide Los Alamos Public School (LAPS) students and staff with school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, calculators, pencils, binders, crayons, paper, and other academic supplies. Last year, with the support from individuals like you, JJAB was able to raise over $4,000 and provide over 50 youth with much-needed supplies.

JJAB invites you to join us in ensuring that every youth is equipped with the tools they need to not only succeed in school, but to find the joy in learning.

Your donations will be used to purchase supplies for students in LAPS elementary schools, middle school, and high school. JJAB Resource Specialists provide supplies to the clients in our programs and collaborate with LAPS counselors and local organizations to identify the needs of additional youth. JJAB then purchases the supplies as our finances allow, distributing them directly to students and schools.

There are two ways the community can donate to support this project:

  1. Donate through the JJAB website www.losalamosjjab.com
  2. Mail a check to Los Alamos JJAB, PO Box 4716, Los Alamos, NM 87547 (Make checks payable to the Los Alamos JJAB and note on the check “school supplies”) We ask that checks be received by 7/31/2021.

Questions? Contact JJAB at (505) 709-8125. All funds donated will go directly to purchasing the needed school supplies.

Los Alamos JJAB is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Since 2004 the Los Alamos JJAB has been providing programs, services, and activities that have a positive impact on youth, families, and the community.
