LOS ALAMOS STEAM LAB NEWS RELEASE
In addition to camps, Los Alamos STEAM Lab, located at 174 Central Park Square is offering a few other opportunities for kiddos this summer:
Tutoring (link)
This tutoring will be aimed at helping kiddos “catch up” over summer as well as not lose their hard-earned skills. We believe summer should be fun, so this tutoring will be largely play based with lots of games for learning math and ELA skills.
Coding Club (link)
We’ll meet up weekly to work on coding projects. This won’t be a formal class, but rather something where each kiddo can find their passion with help from a knowledgeable grown up. We have Bits Box cards for 20 minute scripted and shareable projects (javascript derivative), CMU Academy for formal course work in python, Scratch for block based coding, or support whatever interest your kid has and find a good fit for them.
Pre-K Playtime (link)
This informal play time is aimed at kids aged toddler through 5 (although siblings are welcome!). We’ll pull out our Duplo, Magnatiles, Blocks and other 18mo – 5yo appropriate toys and practice motor and engineering skills.
Los Alamos STEAM Lab is a chaotic and creative space filled with robots and ideas. We offer walk-in hours as well as classes and workshops meshing all things art and science.
