Michael Cooper was the best predictor at 2 seconds off his predicted time in the weekly pace race held at Firefighter’s Park at the corner of Arizona Avenue and 45th Street after a hiatus of 2 weeks due to the Jemez Fire. Other accurate predictors were: Janette Darlington with a 9 second differential; Laura McClellan at 15 seconds off; Mark Bjorklund recording a 16 second difference; and Ryan Smeltzer at 21 seconds off.
On the 1 mile course 12 year old Diego Leonard was the first finisher recording a time of 7:58. Lindsay O’Brien was the top female finisher at 10:19.
Paul Geimer was the top finisher in the 3 mile distance with a time of 19:12 and the best female finisher was Nikol Strother recording a 21:32 time.
Next week’s race will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at 6:00 p.m. in White Rock at Pinon (Rocket Ship) Park on Sherwood Boulevard across from Smith’s. One- and three-mile paved courses will be available on the Route 4 Bike Path.
