Last week, the Cerro Pelado fire was threatening Los Alamos county. As a result, Los Alamos County facilities, including Mesa Public Library, and the Step Up Gallery, were closed. Now that the Cerro Pelado fire is not such an immediate threat to the community, Los Alamos County facilities will reopen on Monday, May 16. 

The public is cordially invited to attend a Guided Tour of the Los Alamos Photo Club’s Photo Show on Tuesday, May 17 between 5:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Photographers will guide visitors through the show and discuss techniques, equipment, and subjects, as well as answering visitor questions. The show is in the Step Up Gallery, which is located in Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos. The show will be open until Thursday, May 26.

At the present time, masking and social distancing are optional in the gallery. These guidelines may change at short notice, however.

Step Up Gallery is located on the top floor of Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave., Los Alamos. The gallery is open the same hours as the library: Monday – Thursday: 10am – 8pm; Friday: 10am – 6pm; and Saturday: 10am – 5pm. The Gallery is closed Sundays. Admission is free.
