COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos County Golf Course will be closed Monday, May 9 for greens aeration. Tee times will be available beginning 9:00am Tuesday, May 10. Because the putting green receives more traffic than any other playing surface, the aeration process helps relieve the compactions caused by the additional traffic. It also helps create a firm, smooth putting surface by controlling thatch and promoting healthy turf roots.
Typically, the golf course will aerate the greens one to three times a season. The following dates are the anticipated dates for aeration at the Los Alamos County Golf Course:
May 9, 2022 Greens Aeration, course closed
May 10, 2022 9:00 am First Tee Time
June 20 & 21, 2022 Ninja Tine Application on Greens
– Front 9 closed June 20
– Back 9 Closed June 21
September 14, 2022 Greens Aeration, course closed
September 15, 2022 9:00am First Tee Time
