Rotarian Chris Sierk Receives Paul Harris Fellowship

Rotarian Christine Sierk, left, receives congratulations Tuesday from Greg Viola, who chairs The Rotary Foundation committee for the local Rotary Club.  Skip King, behind, stands with applause. Sierk, who has been a Rotarian since 1999, was awarded her fifth Paul Harris Fellowship based upon her generous donations to Rotary International.  She has served actively on many committees and in several Board positions, including Club President.  Sierk is also a popular host for travelers in the Rotary Friendship Exchange program.Paul Harris, after whom the award is named, founded Rotary in 1905.  Donations made to The Rotary Foundation fund Rotary’s seven Areas of Focus:  promoting peace; fighting disease, especially polio; providing opportunities for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene; supporting education; saving and enhancing the lives of mothers and children; growing local economies; and protecting the environment. Photo by Sandy Tobin
