The deadline to turn in applications for The Family YMCA’s summer Youth Conservation Corps trail repair program is by 6 p.m. on Friday, April 15. Applications turned before this date are appreciated.
Applications may be turned in at the Los Alamos and Española YMCA teen centers by 6 p.m. on April 15, or at The Family YMCA, 1450 Iris Street in Los Alamos. The Y is open on weekends.
The Y is hiring up to 12-14 positions and is restricted to ages 14-25, except for a trainer position that may be older and that pays $18/hr.
Application packets and job descriptions are available on the Y’s website at laymca.org/youth-conservation-corps-ycc, at the YMCA 1450 Iris Street, and at the Los Alamos and Espanola YMCA teen centers. Applications require two reference forms (included in the packet) that must be reattached to the application and turned in by April 15.
Applicants must be New Mexico residents unemployed at time of hiring. Positions run from June 6 – July 29. Trail crew members will earn $14/hour, and leaders, who must be 21-25 years of age, will earn $16/hour. Bus passes will be provided to youth who must commute to the job.
